On top of the free WIFI for all HUSD Chromebooks at all HUSD campuses there are several other ways that our families/students can get access to the internet for distance learning:

No-Cost Internet Providers:
Below is a list of all internet providers offering no-cost internet during the COVID19 pandemic:

Free "New Customer" Internet for 60-days:
New customers (who have a student living in their home) may get free internet for 60 days.  Setup and connection fees are waived as well.  Parents will need proof that they have a student in their home and proof that the school closed due to the COVID-19 issue.  Parents may contact heir school site to obtain proof of enrollment. Parents may visit the HUSD website for closure information and they may screenshot and/or print it themselves.  HUSD staff CANNOT send this info to any internet provider.  We can email it to the parent and they can send it to whomever they wish.

Free/reduced Internet (after initial 60-days):
Families with at least one student who qualifies for free/reduced lunch qualify for free and/or reduced internet after the initial 60-days (or if they were already an existing customer).  However it is not legal for HUSD nutritional services to disclose free/reduced lunch information to school admin/staff. The parent/guardian must contact food services directly to request this verification.  Parents should email nutrition.services@hesperiausd.org with their student(s) name, school, and birthdate and ask for nutritional services to email them the verification.  Note:  If they gave nutritional services an email address when they applied for free/reduced meals they were already emailed this letter to confirm their benefits.
