Students from Ms. Lake's 5th class chose a national park to research during state testing. They wrote letters to Park Rangers and completed a 3D representation of their parks. The excitement hearing back from Park Rangers was palpable! Lower grade classrooms came in for Gallery Walks and were treated to an active volcano from Hawaii Volcanoes National Park!!! 🌋 Students did a PHENOMENAL job on their projects and Ms. Lake could not be any more proud of them. Great job, Koalas! 🐨

GLOW Girls were treated to their last guest speaker of the year on Tuesday! Chemaine Almquist, from Forever Wild, came and spoke to the girls about turning their passions into a career. She spoke of the need to protect animals, be a voice for them and how Forever Wild got started. It was a great opportunity for GLOW Girls to think outside the box for their future. Forever Wild is a nonprofit animal sanctuary located in Phelan and is a great place to spend the day with family seeing lions, tigers and bears - oh my! Check them out - https://foreverwildsanctuary.org/

One of our 5th grade students wanted to LEAD an art project with our GLOW program today. She took initiative by asking to do this and gave Ms. Lake a list of what she needed. The girls all made the cutest flowers and bees out of pipe cleaners, led by Leelee and her assistant, Aryn. It was a great lunchtime project and something the girls can keep with them always. Super proud of Leelee for doing this. Love to see those leadership skills shining through! GLOW Girls GROW! 💜
