#SchoolSiteHighlightThis year, Sultana High School's talented advanced fashion design students took a creative field trip to a local thrift shop in the High Desert. They scoured through vintage, unfashionable pieces and gave them a second life by transforming them into bold, modern creations. The result? A stunning showcase of upcycled fashion that redefines what it means to be "in style." Sultana celebrated their innovative designs at the 2nd Annual Renaissance Upcycled Fashion Show, where sustainability meets creativity in the world of fashion! We’re so proud of our students for their hard work and dedication in turning old clothes into brand new masterpieces. They created an amazing show of talent, style, and environmental consciousness!

Sultana and Hesperia High Schools proudly represented HUSD at the Southern California CIEF Shed Build Competition, facing off against 600 students in 40 of the top high school construction programs from across the state. Sultana High School continued its impressive streak, earning the Industry Team Safety Award and a Project Manager Scholarship—marking the fifth consecutive year they've brought home recognition from this prestigious event. In an exciting debut, Hesperia High School claimed the Architectural Choice Award in their class, a remarkable achievement for their first time competing. In total, 25 CTE Construction students from HUSD participated in the competition, gaining valuable hands-on experience, showcasing their skills, and engaging directly with industry professionals over the two-day event. These achievements reflect the strength of our CTE programs and the dedication of our students and educators. Congratulations to all who participated!

Sometimes in today's world it's easy to forget that we are still surrounded by good people who help those around them. Last semester Canyon Ridge Supervisor 1 Sanita Cortina had a health emergency on campus. Principal, and former EMT, Mr. Faysel Bell intervened and helped stabilize her until EMTs were able to reach the school and give her the life saving medical attention she needed. Ms. Cortina credited Mr. Bell with saving her life and described him as her hero as she presented him with an award at an HUSD leadership meeting this week. Special thanks to Mr. Bell and all our first responders who protect us and our community everyday. And kudos to Mr. Bell whose care for his students and staff goes much further than the classroom door.
