On April 19th fifteen students from OHHS and SHS participated in mock interviews at Silverwood Development with industry professionals. Interviewers provided students with valuable feedback, guidance and helped them gain insights into the expectations of the professional world.

HUSD hosted its secondary spring semester esports championship on Monday. Teams from HUSD middle and high schools participated in a Rocket League tournament to see who would bring home the coveted HUSD esports trophy and bragging rights as the best Rocket League team in HUSD. Sultana's Ean Brown, Ernesto Esparza, and Breanna Ramirez who were coached by Bailey Westerman, Patrick Sichter, and Robert Sellers blazed their way through the tournament and took home the trophy. Congratulations to all of our students and schools that participated and we look forward to our winter esports event coming up at the end of the year!

Today Oak Hills High School admin became aware of a student possibly in possession of a firearm. OHHS immediately worked with the HUSD School Police and the District Office to put the school on lockdown and apprehend the student. Law Enforcement and admin quickly located and arrested the student and recovered a loaded firearm on campus. After a short while OHHS admin received clearance from Law Enforcement to lift the lockdown. All students are safe and there were no injuries. The District cannot comment further on the investigation at this time as this is an open law enforcement investigation.

Four HUSD students represented Hesperia Unified School District in the Sacramento Youth Education Summit over the weekend. They attended workshops, learned policy programs, and worked on presentations.
For our second Experiential Learning Program internship through HUSD and facilitated by Silverwood Development five of our SHS construction and woodworking students went to Frick, Frick & Jette to learn about architecture and what it means to be an architect. The students learned all about the trade and the various specialties that are within architecture and the various careers and specialties that work with the architects in order for something to get approved to be built and be built. The students went through a set of plans for a school that is going to be built and had a great time learning about potential future career opportunities.

#SchoolSiteHighlight Today we are at Krystal Elementary in the A-Team program. A-Team ranges from TK to 6th grade and teacher/aide teams work to provide specialized learning experiences to help gain mastery of learning standards. Just another way Krystal Elementary and HUSD works to individualize learning to help students achieve.
